Neon Cactus Puts Community First with May Mental Health Fundraising Campaign

Neon Cactus Puts Community First with May Mental Health Fundraising Campaign

Fairview, TX | May 27, 2025 — On a day filled with gratitude, generosity, and a little ice-cold fun, the Town of Fairview came together to support mental health awareness at Neon Cactus Cocina, one of Fairview’s most vibrant dining destinations.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, Neon Cactus wrapped up its month-long “Gives Back” initiative with a check presentation ceremony attended by Fairview Town Manager Julie Couch, members of Fairview Fire-Rescue, and representatives from several local mental health nonprofits. These organizations included:

  • Mental Health America of Greater Dallas

  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) North Texas

  • MENtal MATTERs

  • Camp 2020: Building Mental Health Awareness

  • Grant Halliburton Foundation

  • LifePath Systems Foundation

In true Neon Cactus fashion, this wasn’t your average check presentation. Firefighters from Fairview Fire-Rescue helped mark the occasion by dumping ice-cold buckets of water on willing Neon Cactus staff, turning awareness into action and challenge into cheer.

A Month-Long Commitment to Mental Wellness

Throughout May, Neon Cactus Gives Back designated specific days to spotlight and support a different mental health organization. On those days, 10% of all proceeds were donated directly to the featured nonprofit.

Give Back Day Schedule – May 2025:

  • May 1 – Mental Health America of Greater Dallas

  • May 8 – NAMI North Texas

  • May 14 – MENtal MATTERs

  • May 15 – Camp 2020

  • May 21 – Grant Halliburton Foundation

  • May 22 – LifePath Systems Foundation

By month’s end, the initiative raised funds and elevated critical conversations around emotional health, resilience, and access to care—all through the power of community and shared meals.

More Than a Restaurant—A Community Partner

“Neon Cactus isn’t just a place to grab dinner,” said Super Dave Quinn, CEcD, host of the Getting Neighborly podcast and longtime champion of Fairview’s small business community. “It’s a true partner in the health and well-being of this town. What they’ve done here in May is a model for how local businesses can give back meaningfully.”

How You Can Still Support

While the May initiative has concluded, Neon Cactus’s commitment to giving back continues as they support different organizations every Thursday through their Give Back program.
