Fairview Neighbors Step Outside and Connect for National Night Out
Sometimes, getting to know your neighbors starts with stepping outside.
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Fairview residents gathered across town for National Night Out, an evening designed to bring neighbors together and give them time to meet the police officers and firefighters who serve their community.

At least 10 Fairview neighborhoods or streets participated. Some neighbors caught up with familiar faces. Others met for the first time. Fairview police officers and firefighters stopped by the gatherings, allowing residents to visit with them in their own neighborhoods.
The night reflected something we value in Fairview: being neighborly.
What Is National Night Out?
National Night Out brings neighbors and local law enforcement together through community gatherings. It gives residents a chance to build relationships with neighbors and the people who serve their community.
In Fairview, that meant neighborhood gatherings across town, with police officers and firefighters stopping in to visit.
The conversations may have started with a simple introduction, but the connections can continue long after the evening is over.

A Chance to Meet the People Behind the Uniforms
We often see police officers and firefighters responding to a call or heading somewhere important. National Night Out gave Fairview residents a different opportunity: time to say hello and get to know them.

Those visits also gave officers and firefighters a chance to spend time with the people and neighborhoods they serve.
Getting to know one another takes time. An evening spent together is a good place to start.

You do not have to travel far to find a reason to connect. Sometimes the introduction you're waiting for is right down your street.

That is what Getting Neighborly is all about: sharing the stories, places and people that make Fairview feel like home.
